Information We Collect

Prompt Content

When you use Prompt Critic to analyze your prompts, the content you write is sent to Claude AI (Anthropic) for analysis. This is necessary to provide real-time feedback and suggestions.

Local Files

All .prompt files you create or edit are stored locally on your Mac. We do not have access to these files unless you explicitly send their content for analysis.

API Keys

Your Claude AI API key is stored securely in your macOS Keychain and is never transmitted to us. It is only used to communicate directly with Anthropic's API.

How We Use Information

The prompt content you send for analysis is used solely to:

• Generate real-time feedback and suggestions
• Identify areas for improvement in your prompts
• Provide priority-based recommendations

We do not store, log, or retain your prompt content on our servers. All processing is done through direct communication with Anthropic's API.

Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude AI)

Prompt Critic uses Claude AI to analyze your prompts. When you request analysis, your prompt content is sent to Anthropic's servers. Please review Anthropic's Privacy Policy to understand how they handle your data.

Data Storage

Prompt Critic stores the following information locally on your device:

• Your .prompt files in locations you choose
• Application preferences and settings
• Recent files list for quick access
• Your API key in the macOS Keychain

No data is transmitted to our servers or stored in the cloud by Prompt Critic.

Data Security

We take data security seriously:

• API keys are stored using macOS Keychain, Apple's secure credential storage system
• All communication with Anthropic's API is encrypted using HTTPS
• No telemetry or analytics data is collected
• The app operates entirely offline except when communicating with Claude AI for analysis

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• All files remain on your local device
• You can revoke API access at any time by removing your API key
• You can delete the app and all associated data at any time
• You control when and if your prompts are sent for analysis

Children's Privacy

Prompt Critic is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Prompt Critic after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
